Opening Ceremony of the “Show Bhumi” Orientation Program

Amarin Group Launches the “Show Bhumi” Program to Develop the Next Generation of Sufficiency Community Developers

Amarin Group officially launched the “Show Bhumi” Program with an Orientation Opening Ceremony held on 8 June 2026. The program aims to cultivate a new generation of community development practitioners guided by the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy and equipped with practical knowledge and hands-on experience in sustainable community development.

The event commenced with remarks by Mr. Thapana Sirivadhanabhakdi, President and Chief Executive Officer of Thai Beverage Public Company Limited, founder of the “Duay Jongrak Lae Phakdi” initiative, and Chairman of Strong and Self-Reliant Communities (Thailand) Co., Ltd. He stated that the “Show Bhumi” Program serves as a platform for young people to learn, gain practical experience, and develop their capabilities in community development based on the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy. The program seeks to improve quality of life through balanced and sustainable development across three key dimensions: economic, social, and environmental.

The program provides participants with opportunities to learn through real-world experiences while building friendships, professional networks, and knowledge exchanges with distinguished experts and local wisdom leaders from diverse fields. The curriculum covers knowledge and best practices at the national, community, and household levels.

Throughout the program, participants will engage in classroom learning and field studies to better understand the realities of community life. They will also learn about the power of collaboration and collective action, which are essential drivers of sustainable community development and resilience.

The orientation also featured a special lecture by Dr. Sumet Tantivejkul, Director and Senior Special Advisor of the Chaipattana Foundation. He shared his perspectives on community development, emphasizing that communities are the foundation of the nation. Genuine development begins with understanding oneself and one’s hometown, recognizing the value of local resources and wisdom, and building cooperation to foster sustainable growth.

Dr. Sumet further highlighted the importance of creating value from local resources and indigenous knowledge through the development of products, services, and effective management practices, while maintaining environmental responsibility and long-term sustainability. He encouraged participants to stay informed about global changes, strengthen community resilience, and prepare for future challenges and uncertainties.

In addition, he summarized the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great (Rama IX), which is founded upon the principles of moderation, reasonableness, self-immunity, knowledge, and integrity. These principles serve as practical guidelines for sustainable self-development, community development, and social progress.

In his closing remarks, Dr. Sumet encouraged the new generation of community developers to appreciate the value of their hometowns, learn from local wisdom, and apply their knowledge to create lasting benefits for society and future generations.
